KLEIN
Fischer&Fischer Klein are floorstanding two-way speakers with bass reflex port.
The tweeter has a silk dome diaphragm, neodymium magnet, and optimized rear chamber. Its 22mm diameter is an interesting compromise between 0.75" and 1" models, as it retains excellent directional characteristics at the highest frequencies, while also offering high power handling.
The 100mm mid-bass driver uses a specially profiled and damped paper cone. The very powerful magnetic system with an aluminum linearization ring is designed to handle extreme excursions - so that even with these compact dimensions, the reproduction is full and low frequencies are perceived physically. The aerodynamically shaped basket provides perfect cooling of the coil even under enormous load - thanks to its sophisticated design, while minimizing any acoustic noise.
High-quality components for frequency filters are always significantly larger than commonly used types, which is why frequency crossovers are placed in separate boxes, connected to the speakers by cable. This solution allows the speakers themselves to remain miniature in size without undesirable degradation of the reproduced sound. The chokes used in the crossovers are wound uncompromisingly – with thick wires on an air core, so that there can be no oversaturation, signal limitation, or sharp increase in distortion, as is commonly the case with iron and ferrite cores. The capacitors are polypropylene types with properties suitable for audio applications.
The speakers are custom-made in Germany, and the enclosure material is half a billion years old, first-class slate. The set consists of the speakers themselves, external crossovers, and cables. Magnetic grilles and original stands, for which the speakers have threaded mounting preparations, can be purchased as accessories. Despite its smaller dimensions, this system surprises with its unexpected richness of sound, power, and bass volume.
