About the company

Fischer&Fischer is a well-established manufacturer of high-quality loudspeakers from Germany. It was founded in 1981 by Thomas Fischer and Heinz Fischer (then young students) who decided to raise the generally poor quality of loudspeakers (lagging behind other components in most Hi-Fi systems) to a significantly higher level. Thomas's family owned a slate quarry, so he had the opportunity to conduct many tests with different materials – both wood-based and laminate-based, as well as in combination with stone. However, the best results were always achieved with slate alone, whose composition has an optimal mix of good properties – such as strength, rigidity, high weight, and the ability to dampen its own material resonance. In the 1980s, several models of loudspeakers and amplifiers were created, including a five-band active loudspeaker with an output of 2.5 kW. After 1989, the paths of the two founders diverged, with Thomas remaining true to his love – high-end home speakers – and Heinz becoming enthusiastic about high-quality sound solutions not only for passenger cars but also for other means of transport (he founded Audiotec Fischer, which develops the well-known Brax, Helix, and Match components). To this day, Thomas and Heinz continue to share their experience gained in both fields. Since 1996, Michael Mudra, an internationally renowned electrical engineer who performs acoustic measurements and is responsible for the design of most models, has been a key member of the Fischer&Fischer development team. Although the manufacturing process is still custom-made with a high degree of precision manual work, Fischer&Fischer supplies its products worldwide.
